goodbyes are hard

Greetings to you from the other side of summer! Thank you so much to my incredible friends and family who came out to Sawyer's Dream shows this summer, I was so encouraged by your presence and support.
This fall, I made the difficult decision to leave the band. As some of you know, I have struggled with chronic pain for the last 4 years, and my symptoms significantly worsened in the last 9 months. I had plans to stay with Sawyer's Dream and partake in the recording of the band's second album this fall and winter, but as the summer progressed and my pain got louder and louder (neck pain, back pain, knee pain, hip pain, headaches, muscle weakness in my arms and legs, shortness of breath), it's as if my body was screaming at me "SLOW DOWN."
So I did. And guess what? I'm already seeing the difference. I restarted my physical therapy appointments 2 weeks ago and am making big improvements.
"What's next for Sawyer's Dream?"
Lizzy McCoy (pictured above) is taking my spot as a lead singer for Sawyer's Dream! I got to sing with her on October 2nd and she is INCREDIBLE. I'm so thankful for the friendships I made in the band, and I can't wait to cheer on these wonderful people as they live the dream!
"What's next for you?"
Honestly, I'm mostly just resting right now.
I do hope to jump back into songwriting and work on a second solo album this winter, so stay tuned!
Much love,
Emily
